Productivity a subsidiary of Collabora focusing on LibreOffice support and
services for whom I work.
Also if you have the time to read this sort of stuff you could enlighten
yourself by going to Unraveling Wittgenstein's net or if
you are feeling objectionable perhaps here.
Failing that, there are all manner of interesting things to read on
the LibreOffice Planet news
feed.

Meetings all day - partners, customers, student, slowly
falling behind again. Hacking in the evening - got
coolstress
into some better shape, dug at
Prometheus format output.
-
Into Cambridge to drop off car for MOT, no action
on rattling breaks - Toyota Cambridge: abnormally annoying
when it comes to real maintenance on cars.
-
To the office to meet Naomi in person & try to
get her setup thanks to David, and go over marketing ideas
with Simon N together, lunch. Picked up car on the way home.
Back to E-mail; parents arrived - chatted to them
with the family.
-
Miriam's birthday; planning call in the morning,
got some mail chewed; H. back from Ireland around lunch
time. Out for a walk in Brandon Park, then Lynford
Arboretum with the family - fine. Caught up with work.
-
Watched eXistenZ - together not such a hit.
-
All Saints in the morning, back early - tidied house
and made Pizza for Andrew & Fran's family visiting - hit
by a transient plague of flies - annoying; enjoyed catching
up with them.
-
Watched Slum Dog Millionaire together.
-
Tidied things up, N. on an EPQ crunch, M. up late.
Got some admin done, tried to get new lock mechanism and
keeps for J's counselling room door.
-
Worked late while babes watched another
Harry Potter.
-
Up very early, to work. Call with Eloy, Pedro. BT engineer
showed up to diagnose internet failure: as expected someone had
dis-connected it in the fibre/cabinet - fun.
-
Into Soham with M. to get her (great) GCSE
results - what a privilege.
-
Internet out - poked BT, worked on 4G.
Started to chew through mail; calls with Miklos, Lubos,
Eloy, Kendy, Justin, Simon. Lots to do.
-
Up early, waffles for breakfast; walked to and up the
Montagne de Bueren & admired the citadel, wandered back
through various hilly streets of Liege.
-
Drove to Calais, queued for an unfeasibly long time
to get through UK passport control, last car onto the ferry,
and drove home at last.
-
Up and onwards - lots of driving to Liege, found
our AirBnB and rested.
-
Packed and cleaned the flat, oil in U-bends etc.
Drove through the train tunnel to Kandersteg; further
North to Burgdorf to meet Nicolas, Melanie & M. at
a fine Lido. Great to catch-up, swim, dive, and enjoy
company & hospitality.
-
Drove on to the German Black Forest for an
overnight stay in a lovely AirBnB. Played Fussball
& Pool with E.
-
Leukerbad Therme - had a lovely time, soaking
ourselves, sliding on slides, but mostly relaxing in
the warm water in a beautiful landscape & setting.
Unusual to find so many fine, welded, stainless-steel
pools.
-
Up late, Bisse walk in Lens - picnic lunch - lovely
views down the Valais valley. Cake shop trip, relaxed in
the flat.
-
Breakfast, packed, checked-out - paid tourist
tax in cash: AirBnB should really ensure that's included
everywhere. Shopping, drove back through deep fog over the
Simplon; unpacked, relaxed & had some LOTR.
-
Up late, H. and E. swam, rainy day. Sheltered from bad
weather, shopping centre, out for dinner in the evening -
ice-cream on the Maggiore lake-front, back via small paths.
Watched Ready Player One, chat with Dad.
-
Up early, drove to Stresa, train to Milan - met up with
Italo who kindly showed us some of the sights, and the clothing
stores: fashion. A really lovely meal at Renato Bosco's - enjoyed
the Galeria, Doma, castle and company.
-
Train back to Stresa - raining encouragingly hard. Picked
up some tea, home, watched Inception together; bed.
-
Drove up to the Simplon pass, had a short walk and lunch,
drove over into Italy - after re-discovering some excitingly narrow
cobbled streets managed to get into Villa Anna.
-
Swam in the pool at the hotel; got to know the local midges.
Quested for missing Disney+ vs. listing - poked hosts; watched
Interstellar together.
-
Lovely views over the lake at night: lighting & lightning.
-
Call with Miklos in the morning - great to have
him back.
-
Out while H. did a four hour, open-book, online
thermodynamics exam at the flat. Wandered with J. while the
kids played at the lake. Lunch together. Bought cakes to
celebrate our walk & H's exam early afternoon.
-
Applied slugging at the flat, watched, read
& relaxed.
-
Up early to avoid putative bad weather; breakfast, packed.
Set off on a >Bisse
de Ro walk - managed to get everyone to lake Tseuzier too and
back again - rather longer than expected though.
-
Enjoyed a rather excellent sermon as a family from Park-Street
Can't
wait to turn 50 - unusual to hear Ecclesiastes preached on.
-
Up lateish, pottered around town, enjoyed some
time by Lac Moubra - with the babes swimming. Home,
watched Jeeves & Wooster. Interestingly
pleasantly cooler at altitude, 1 degree less per
100m or so?
-
Up early, packed everyone into the car, and set off
for Geneva. Visited CERN with the babes - great visitor
centre and tour - but somewhat over-dumbed-down: needs more
explanation of the actual physics for eg. A-level students:
hopefully new visitor center will provide.
-
Impressed by old synchnotron - and 5m thick concrete
walls - with giant sliding door, good AV presentation.
-
Shopping, off to Crans-Montana and the flat.
Discovered the interesting things that can happen to a
bathroom if every U-bend dries out and a year of
ventillation brings not-so-fresh air through it.
-
Up - noisy city appartment living something of
a wrench; walked into central Dijon and enjoyed a wealth
of free culture: Museum of fine art, some churches, a
rude museum - etc. Lunch in a small park, browsed shops
with small girls, ice-cream, and home.
-
Watched Catch me if you can together, and
had a pasta dinner. Foolishly read E-mail; tried to sleep.
-
Up early, drove to Dover - missed the right ferry
but got on the next. Played smash-up on the ferry, and
enjoyed a fine view of both England & France.
-
Drove down to Dijon, located keys for AirBnB
& went to bed late.
-
Into the office to get some internet access.
Consultancy tem call. Got Mac Mini M1 installed into
build farm with Yunusemre. Met David new sysadmin the
office. Interview, sync with Simon & Eloy.
-
Packed for holiday tomorrow variously.
-
Quick mail chew, drove to near Aldeburgh for a
river boat restaurant trip with J's family. Worked in
the car.
-
Lovely meal and boat trip up and down the
Ore / Alde with J's family. Home - internet down - hmm.
-
All Saints in the morning, shared lunch.
Slept in the garden and read LOTR to the babes.
-
Up late, admin, payments, shopping, routed some
hinges in, website tweaks. Worked late - tried to live
upgrade Tumbleweed to openSUSE 15.4 - a very bad idea:
glibc flaked, pleased with the re-boot / snapshot
rollback though in the end.
-
Interview catch up with Kendy, Gulsah, ISO call,
partner clal, dug through tickets & tried to distribute
work.
-
E. out on an Ark weekend with its friends.
Watched Parasite with the remaining babes - fun.
-
Back to work - lots of mail chew. Catch up with Pedro,
COOL community call, sync. with Andras & Gokay. Pleased
to see we had a COOL 22.05 enteprise release in my absence.
-
Up early, bid a fond but sad farewell to our American
family. Back to bed, slugged. J. chopped trees down. Got a
basic website setup for J's counselling business.
Beat back the admin pile a bit.
-
Alex over in the evening to practice bass.
-
Anglsey Abbey with T&B for a wander through the
woods and to meet their friends Sue & Chris, a fine time.
-
Out in the evening for a farewell dinner with the
whole family.
-
Somewhat better; T&B and babes + E. went to
Roar - the awesome dinosaur park near Norwich. Continued
recovering slowly. Made a wooden hatch surround.
