Interrupted sleep; bid a fond 'bye in the morning, drove
home. Went shopping with J. slugged around trying to fix this
and that around the house. Binge watched Jack Ryan with J.

Slept poorly, H. not well . Out to
the Quaker meeting in the morning with Dad, M & E to setup
tables. Home for some lunch.

Parents' fiftieth wedding anniversary dance and party in
the evening - lovely to catch-up with the wider family, enjoy
some fine food. Back to M&D's for more evening celebration.
A wonderful blessing to have a
faithful, stable family.

Up late, shreddies & bacon sandwiches;
packed and drove north to see M&D. Greggs on the way.
Set too sorting through bottles for the party, moving
tables etc. R&A&tribe arrived in time for dinner.

Up lateish, breakfast, presents, did some lego
assembly with E. Lunch, chat with H. took the babes to
the park to learn to cycle & scoot with H. and M.

Played games, slugged about happily. Fine dinner.
Collected M's phone from the play-ground late at night
together.

M&D left earlyish, with S&C&A&J
leaving a little later; lovely to spend time with them
all. Packed, tidied, set off to R&A's. Got there,
fine dinner, played games.

Boxing day, breakfast, B&A left earlyish.
Out for a walk with the rest of the family along the
nearby dyke. Back for a lateish lunch. Played games,
watched Your Christmas or mine, did some
sketching games, with J. & E. - worked on an
tougher doughnut puzzle. Browsed food, chatted
variously.

Up at a reasonable time, E. up since six -
stocking opening action. Breakfast, off to All
Saints - H. played the organ, and I fiddled with
the stops.

Home, S&C&A&J arrived snacks,
then fine Christmas roast dinner, break for present
opening before Christmas pudding & feast of
deserts.

Off into town to do some last minute shopping:
located the elusive white toblerone for J. - back for
lunch with B & A arriving.

H. played organ for the crib service.

Deep holiday mode, puzzling action with the
family - a fine picture of York Minster & the
shambles.

Up earlyish, out for a run in the rain with J. Got
to E-mail, while Dad watched Colin Furze - fun, welcomed
Anna, marvelled at the nearly 90 QA position applicants
we've had in under a week. H. over to Christina's.

Leo dropped by with cookies, Tessa's mum came
over to pick her up, had a chat; Dinner. Neil around for
a chat.
-
Admin, mail, calls with Andras, sync with Noel,
more admin, call with Lars too, review with Gokay -
finally complete. Parents out to see Grant & Anne,
Tessa around in the evening for a sleepover with N.

Project planning much of the day; end of year All Hands
call and summary at midday. Long planning call with Andras, and
review. Parents arrived, catch up with them in the evening.

Sync with Kendy & estimation bits, worked on
reviews until late, with more admin & misc. tasks.
-
Planning call, interview, drove to the Bedford lodge,
another interview, back call & offer on a Project Manager
role, worked late.
-
All Saints in the morning, Peter on organ, helped to
re-organize the church for the band concert in the evening.
Fine pizza lunch & snooze in front of the football.

Dropped Sade to the station, picked up a frozen M.
J. out to rescue David from a breakdown, played and sung in
the Carol Service - with the Newmarket Town Band. Catch up
with Chris & Robert, bed.

All Saints Christmas open day in the morning, lots of
flower arrangers making the church beautiful for Christmas,
managed to get some work done in spaces.

Call with Lars & Andras, mail chew, dug through
the admin backlog. Sync with Simon. Men of Faith Christmas
Dinner in the evening at a local pub.

Up early, dropped H. to the station; catch-up with
Miklos, caught the end of the COOL community call, lunch,
catch up with Andras, review with Tor, mail & admin.

Up early, breakfast on the move, eventually found the
concealed entrance to the venue. Worked on improving
my German: sinn - sense, stiftung - foundation,
sinnstifting - meaningfulness. Good meetings, delayed
flight, out for dinner with some of the team, airport. Drove
home around the under-construction M25 - bed at 3am.

Up early to get E. off to school, so J.
could lie-in, review with Kendy, booked more
travel to Univention Summit, FOSDEM, parking
for Gatwick (trains on strike), and drove south
and caught a plane.

Planning call, reviews with Mike, Pranam,
TDF catch-up, sync with Michael, Christopher & Cor.

Minuted All Saints PCC meeting until rather late.
-
All Saints, roast lunch, rested variously,
read the news, calculated cost per mile for the Leaf,
and realized we need Economy 7 electricity and to
charge at night to make it work well.

Up earlyish, off to see B&A, had a lovely
lunch. Picked up Nissan Leaf - our first battery car,
interesting times. Home - played with the babes - N.
and E. while H. and M. were out in Cambridge at a
comedy act.

Mail chew, admin, reviews, catch up
with Gokay, more annual reviews until late.
H. baby-sat A. at our house, watched Home
with her.

Catch up with Miklos & Andras, worked
on annual reviews variously.
-
Early call on bibliography design; chat with a
friend ; weekly sales call, good to
have Mazin around.

Lunch, and into Cambridge, met up with Naomi
& visited Claire College conference facilities,
back for some marketing discussion, then a C'bra
Christmas Party at The Boot in Histon. Missed
the babes Ely Cathedral carol concert sadly.

Sync with Kendy, review with Pedro, catch-up with
Simon N, Pod Point installed to charge electric car.

Planning calls, partner call, ISO catch-up, sync
with Philippe. Travel to Susan Allison's licensing as a Vicar
in Ipswich - a good evening out with J, nibbles, home on bus
with the church.

All Saints, shared Christmas'y lunch at church -
fewer people there than last time oddly. Home.
-
Watched The Big Short with M. (studying
economics): "I want you to short everything that guy
has touched".

Out to see James, Kate & Penelope in the
evening with H. while the babes were at StAG - really
nice to see them.
-
Helped get a birthday cream-tea lunch for Mary
Rogers; for her rather advanced 90+ birthday, lovely
to see her.

Relaxed, watched Your Christmas or Mine
with E. surprisingly fun.

Up early, off to swforum.eu event - Open Source Workshops for Computing and
Sustainability; interesting. Met lots of old friends.

A stand-up lunch, more sessions, Eurostar home - mercifully
on-time. Met a group of interesting hacker-types on the train: fun.

Early set of trains to Brussels, arrived rather
later - dark. What is it about hotel lighting that is so
dingy these days (?) perhaps economising on electricity
or bulbs. Plugged away at E-mail
and admin until late.
