Stuff Michael Meeks is doing

This is my (in)activity log. You might like to visit
Collabora
Productivity a subsidiary of Collabora focusing on LibreOffice support and
services for whom I work.
Also if you have the time to read this sort of stuff you could enlighten
yourself by going to Unraveling Wittgenstein's net or if
you are feeling objectionable perhaps here.
Failing that, there are all manner of interesting things to read on
the LibreOffice Planet news
feed.

- Burned a SuSE 9.1 preview onto CDs to install on
the laptop; nice to have CD/RW - 4 CD's serially onto just
one disk. Upgraded and reported a couple of installer bugs.
- Nice patch from Julian to improve the valgrind-
cleanness of OO.o. Phone call with Arvind wrt. the
BonoboUIToolbar fixes - he's mailing the release team.
- Discovered the AM_GLIB_GNU_GETTEXT check, doesn't
fail if gettext isn't installed: just results in a cryptically
broken setup (for me). Mailed Petr with a list of suitable
patches from ooo-build for 9.1.
- Fixed a silly italicisation bug in OO.o with
Type1 fonts. Spent a long while hacking at libgsf to try to
write a simple OLE2 file unzip helper; extremely difficult to
make it sufficiently pleasant, gave up and used an ugly via
'zip' hack.
- Managed to replicate a virus' trick of forcing
Office to re-generate the macros from the compressed text
representation; nice; mangled the names of some of my macros.
Deluged in sedlist mail - good of them to change the mailing
list details without any advanced notice.
My content in this blog and associated images / data under
images/
and data/
directories are (usually)
created by me and (unless obviously labelled otherwise) are licensed under
the public domain, and/or if that doesn't float your boat a CC0
license. I encourage linking back (of course) to help people decide for
themselves, in context, in the battle for ideas, and I love fixes /
improvements / corrections by private mail.
In case it's not painfully obvious: the reflections reflected here are my
own; mine, all mine ! and don't reflect the views of Collabora, SUSE,
Novell, The Document Foundation, Spaghetti Hurlers (International),
or anyone else.
It's also important to realise that I'm not in on the Swedish Conspiracy.
Occasionally people ask for formal photos for conferences
or fun.
