Stuff Michael Meeks is doing

This is my (in)activity log. You might like to visit
Collabora
Productivity a subsidiary of Collabora focusing on LibreOffice support and
services for whom I work.
Also if you have the time to read this sort of stuff you could enlighten
yourself by going to Unraveling Wittgenstein's net or if
you are feeling objectionable perhaps here.
Failing that, there are all manner of interesting things to read on
the LibreOffice Planet news
feed.

- Re-installed Office XP - it really doesn't like sharing a
machine with Office 2k. 4500 E-mails over the weekend - the spammers
must have had a joint offensive.
- Re-tested, committed and posted as diffs to the scripting
lists, my OfficeXP macro export/import; 1 hour to fetch the first 1000
mails; hmm - hopefully all the GUADEC speakers' details too. I guess
that means it'll be midday before I can read E-mail; and it's using
spamc ... perhaps peabody is being slow.
- Started binary chopping bits out of the Office97 streams.
Discovered I had 650Mb of E-mail, most of it from a huge collab.net
E-mail loop caused by someone subscribing the 'allfeatures' mailing
list to itself; nice ! 500k mails by the end, left running
all-weekend; wow.
- Committed the extremely non-controversial bits of my
dbus cleanup after untangling them from other pieces. Noticed the
giant technology threads on the gnome-desktop lists; hmm. Tried to
make the GProxy regression tests pass, got stuck understanding the
intention of the event filtering layer.
- Started work on a sane IZ filing front-end. Knocked off
to deal with H. had a nice play, dinner, J. out to counselling.
- Tackled a long-term beef of mine - the useless / unusable
IssueZilla 'new bug'
page and came up with something far more hacker-friendly (I hope)
here.
- Posted the D-BUS signal introspection xml generation foo,
just a start really, not ideal. Hacked away at the GUADEC schedule
spreadsheet, moved stuff around, collated the new data, tried to get
more in - looking pretty awesome overall though.
- Helped Carl with OO.o / cairo in passing; seems to have it
working nicely. J. home, bed.
My content in this blog and associated images / data under
images/
and data/
directories are (usually)
created by me and (unless obviously labelled otherwise) are licensed under
the public domain, and/or if that doesn't float your boat a CC0
license. I encourage linking back (of course) to help people decide for
themselves, in context, in the battle for ideas, and I love fixes /
improvements / corrections by private mail.
In case it's not painfully obvious: the reflections reflected here are my
own; mine, all mine ! and don't reflect the views of Collabora, SUSE,
Novell, The Document Foundation, Spaghetti Hurlers (International),
or anyone else.
It's also important to realise that I'm not in on the Swedish Conspiracy.
Occasionally people ask for formal photos for conferences
or fun.
