Up late; poked at win32 bits - some quite amazing mess there; oh for a system compiler that you could just install/run and worked; a-la gcc RPMs; presumably MingW+gcc is the solution long term.
The Sun announcement somewhat concerning. Manually re-built the latest evolution to fix the 'crashes-on-new-mail' bug plaguing me; discovered Jeff caught it, but no new snapshots.
Discovered after much wailing and gnashing of teeth that the MSVCIRT.LIB problem is in fact some oddness of VC2003 and not the tip of a broken library path problem; wow; good. Back-ported some fixage.
The weird binary oddness for building bits of OO.o on win32 is just disgusting; there's no need to use binary MS project files of different versions, with random converters between some of them.

My content in this blog and associated images / data under images/ and data/ directories are (usually) created by me and (unless obviously labelled otherwise) are licensed under the public domain, and/or if that doesn't float your boat a CC0 license. I encourage linking back (of course) to help people decide for themselves, in context, in the battle for ideas, and I love fixes / improvements / corrections by private mail.
