Stuff Michael Meeks is doing

This is my (in)activity log. You might like to visit
Collabora
Productivity a subsidiary of Collabora focusing on LibreOffice support and
services for whom I work.
Also if you have the time to read this sort of stuff you could enlighten
yourself by going to Unraveling Wittgenstein's net or if
you are feeling objectionable perhaps here.
Failing that, there are all manner of interesting things to read on
the LibreOffice Planet news
feed.

- Fine breakfast, off to the local church: service times altered
for this day only, bother. Back to play pool with the children, out again to
a local Elim church - spent the service in the creche: hmm.
- Back, Father arrived, lunch, wandered the gardens, around the
lakelet, visited a fine boating lake outside the grounds with a remote controlled
Owl & Pussycat rowing themselves around: neat.
- More wandering, lugging an increasingly heavy Myriam, packed the
car, and everyone into it - drove home uneventfully.
- Staggeringly appalled by the quality of language in a recent 3+ page
Toyota Economist advert: as a (fairly happy) Toyota owner, I've been brainwashed
into believing this culture of quality message. Unfortunately they then
took out a (hugely expensive) multi-page advert in the Economist, to celebrate
their (impressive) milestone of having sold 1 million Hybrid cars (great), but
apparently didn't bother getting a native English speaker to skim the text.
So, we have a magazine filled with incredibly crisp & elegant prose, with
this giant linguistic wart in the middle, badged 'Toyota' - and of
disappointingly low quality, (though I make no claims for my own grammer or
spelling). Still, I guess it's better to have the quality in the car, rather
than in the marketing department. Bed early - dead tired.
My content in this blog and associated images / data under
images/
and data/
directories are (usually)
created by me and (unless obviously labelled otherwise) are licensed under
the public domain, and/or if that doesn't float your boat a CC0
license. I encourage linking back (of course) to help people decide for
themselves, in context, in the battle for ideas, and I love fixes /
improvements / corrections by private mail.
In case it's not painfully obvious: the reflections reflected here are my
own; mine, all mine ! and don't reflect the views of Collabora, SUSE,
Novell, The Document Foundation, Spaghetti Hurlers (International),
or anyone else.
It's also important to realise that I'm not in on the Swedish Conspiracy.
Occasionally people ask for formal photos for conferences
or fun.
