- Formal contribution agreements are Bad:
- No real legal advantages
- Signals basic lack of legal confidence in FOSS
- Negates social/technical advantages of FOSS
- Ethical concerns
- More justifiable if assignee is nonprofit fiduciary
- Otherwise, best policies are informal, pure FOSS, documented
