services for whom I work.

Breakfast, kindly taken to the venue by Arnaud in
his car. Good to catch up with a number of people and get
the latest state of affairs.
-
Gave a talk about the FLOSS Office space past and
present no doubt omitting lots of great projects I didn't
notice yet (or remember). Trying to stress that commercial
reality sadly beats technical excellence in lots of contexts,
no doubt the recording will be published at some stage too:
-
Fitful sleeping action on the plane, found our
luggage, had a good experience with the parking-elsewhere
service. Drove home via some breakfast at a Greggs.

Lunch, packed, turned around to travel to Italy
for LibOCon. Plugged away at slides left and right, code
analysis, and more. Arrived rather late, caught up with
some folk, worked until much too late at night on slides.

Up early, call with Naomi, then Damien. Showered, packed,
lunch with Thomas, bid a very fond farewell to the excellent American
Meeks' hospitality.

Drove into Boston, visited the Library, admired
the Singer Sergant murals, and other bits. Checked out some
rattan Elephants, ice-cream at "JP Licks", babes did some sketching
in the park.

Off the the airport, struggled to return the car at the
check-in desk. Then discovered UK Air traffic mahyem had stopped
our plane outbound, we'd been bumped by a day - hmm, how do I get to
LibOCon. Said I wanted a refund, and would book a new flight to make
the connection - and BA re-booked us all onto an equivalent AA flight -
wow! nice work BA.

Up early, packed and headed to Well beach for some swimming
in a beautiful clear sea under the sun. Checked-out by a seal at
rather short range, lovely.

Home via Check-fil-A. Unpacked somewhat, talked, said
goodbyes - late night interview, talked to T. until late
together.

Off to the Salvation Army Church in Old Orchard Beach -
an extraordinary open-to-the-air meeting area, though we met inside.
Solid service, great music. Heard about their work at this anniversary
of serving in New York after September 11th 2001.

Walked on to the beach, met up with T&B, lunch together,
relaxed. Babes watched High School Musical, while I finished the Silo
season: a whole year before Season 4 !?

Up, out for a run with J. and B. Sea full of floating
weed though.

Home to see the babes, and down to the beach for some
rather UK style weather - rain - lots of it; fun.
-
Enjoyed some chips & ice-cream in a shelter, and wandered
home in a break in the weather.

Babes went thrifting again, sat with Thomas.
-
Got up early, skipped a run, watched forging videos
with the babes . Eventually ended up
at the beach with the babes.
-
Sat on the beach in the sun and re-read "Its Your Ship" -
looking for some helpful nuggets to apply. Walked and swam with
J. - lovely.

Back home for a shower, and watched The Goes Wrong Show
with the babes before dinner. Chatted to Tom before bed.

Up early but expected calls delayed. Drove to Old Orchard
Beach with the babes via a thrift shop, hobby lobby, chick-fil-a,
and a factory shoe outlet.

Arrived, checked in to AirBnB and J&N cooked. T&B
arrived with the babes later, dinner, relaxed, bed.
-
Up earlyish, more interviews in the morning,
COOL TC call in the middle. Lunch, sync with Eloy
& Simon.
-
J&N cooked dinner for us, caught up with
blogging action.
-
Plugged away through the day, did a last round
interview of a number of people.
-
Sync with Eloy & Noel, slept a bit.
-
Drove out for dinner with Christian - so good
to catch up..
-
Worked on and off through the day, trying to
catch up - J&N. went for a run and then to Target.
Caught up with Simon.
-
Out in the evening by commuter-rail for a
lovely dinner with Miguel in downtown Boston - back
lateish.
-
Up earlyish, still a painful back - there is
a thought that I should actually do the exercises from
the physio - so tried that.
-
On to the Carlisle Congregational Church with
Joel Schofield - great talk on Psalm 131, enjoyed
catching up with some smart cookies afterwards -
learned how satellites shed heat, how heat-pipes work,
government project management and much more.
-
Out for a Diner brunch with T&B, bid a sad
'bye to H&M. at Logan, swapped the car for a less
odiferous & maggot infested machine - nice.
-
Slept badly, B. made a fine breakfast,
went for a walk around a reservoir, then on to see the
Woosocks - our epic support drove them to a 9:1 loss.

Home for crumbly cookie birthday cake with
candles and singing to celebrate M. whose house
contract was finally sorted out.
-
Got some of the more critical E-mail handled,
various pieces signed while J. went thrifting with
all the girls & L.
-
Helped S. with some maths, played basket-ball
together (badly on mypart), adjusted his biked' bowden-
cable to fix the gear change.
-
Chat with Sebastian at some length.
-
Off to visit Richard & Danielle at their
lovely house in Newburyport, enjoyed fine food, and
good company, for much of the afternoon & evening,
and a short tour of the town - inspiring.

Watched latest Silo late.
-
Up late, looked after S&L - J. did some
art work with them. Walked to the nearby farm for
ice-cream with H&M through the forest, while
J,N,E shopped.

Home. Bob & Carol over in the evening
for a BBQ, talked until late at night
-
Up early, out for a run with J. breakfast.
Quiet time, hung out washing together. Relaxed with the
babes, snoozed.
-
Waited for a new cooker to arrive. Visted
Level 99 - an
amazing experience for a couple of hours; ate there,
home.
