This is my (in)activity log. You might like to visit

Productivity a subsidiary of Collabora focusing on LibreOffice support and
services for whom I work.
Also if you have the time to read this sort of stuff you could enlighten
yourself by going to Unraveling Wittgenstein's net or if
you are feeling objectionable perhaps here.
Failing that, you might like to read the Collabora Office developer blog or

Up too early, back to an E-mail backlog in the
hotel, and lots to get done. Walked to the station,
more work on the Eurostar.
-
Published the next strip: Open Core – on the importance
of re-investing into the commons, illustrated by a Maker
and a Taker, with thanks to Dries Buytaert's helpful paper:
-
Up early, conference, talks, workshops, drinks
and dinner on a boat - lots of interest; bid a fond
farewell to many.
-
Open Source Founders'
Summit - met lots of interesting people, gave a
workshop on partner driven sales with a number of
interested parties.
-
Lunch, workshops - discovered I was giving a
lightning talk, wrote that; gave it.
-
Drinks & dinner in the evening, really
nice to see JB in person.
-
Played bass in the morning with Lydia drumming.
Home for pizza lunch, relaxed variously.
-
Taxi / train / Eurostar to Paris in the afternoon
and evening.
-
Off to Aldeburgh earlyish with J. got a bit
of work done in the car.
-
Out for lunch to Sizewell T(ea) - for a bacon
sandwich & chips, and to admire the ongoing work
to build another two duplicate nuclear power stations
hopefully this time at an acceptable cost.
-
Packed a surprising amount of tools into the
car with J., and headed home, unpacked with her.
-
Sync with Dave, catch up with Ezinne, sync
with Eloy & Thorsten, some marketing copy review,
bits of hackery and admin.
-
Tech mentoring call, admin catch-up, catch-up
with 1:1's. Sync with Lily, Sales, Laser, Miklos.
Worked late on some gratuitous hackery.
-
Up early, catch-up call with Dave. Content marketing
call with Richard & Chris, grabbed some lunch. Monthly
Management meeting.
-
Published the next strip: Mentoring – on encouraging volunteers
with with thanks to Adrian Plass
for his winsome humor.
-
Out to Addenbrooks for a brief appointment, back more
attempts at admin catch-up.
-
Band practice in the evening, no Zach, so Lydia drummed,
and I 'played' bass.
-
Dragged self from bed after too few hours sleep,
packed quickly, taxi, early train to Geneva, flight to
Luton, drove home.
-
Arrived in time for some partner (and other) calls;
fun. Started working back through un-handled E-mail, didn't get
very far. Travelling is dangerous for your mail backlog.
-
Up too early, breakfast, to the venue for the
first Nextcloud Swiss Enterprise Day - great to see lots
of interested people getting involved.
-
Distributed lots of stickers, quick-start guides,
hard-working beaver mascots, tips and tricks etc. Gave a
well attended talk on Nextcloud Office / Collabora Online.
-
More discussion in the afternoon, snacks. Out to
dinner with the team.
-
Arrived back late - say 23:10 to the hotel La
Pergola (one to avoid) - no-one there: amazing. Phoned
the number with a dying phone - no response, no way to get
in. H. helped find a nearby Ibis Styles - very friendly and
helpful: stay there instead - they have this scheme of having
someone always there. Charged phone, got warmer, continued
to try to find someone, anyone that could do anything - no
response. Walked back to the hotel, finally got hold of
someone on the listed number - they couldn't tell me the #
Mercifully only raining, not snowing but ... just a horrible
experience. Eventually rescued by a 1am returnee who knew
the magic four digit code to get in - what a dire hotel.
-
Up earlyish, packed, drove to Luton, plane to
Geneva, train to Bern. Nostalgically admired the site of
an early LibreOffice conference there and view of Bern.
-
Hotel, kebab, sermon, bed early.
-
Took the day off, pottered around the garage
and managed to make significant progress. Bits of
clean concrete floor now visible. Arranged where
various machine tools should go, dunged out junk.
-
Relaxed with J. and watched Apollo 13 in the
evening.
-
Sync with Dave, admin backlog, sync with Laser,
catch up with Eloy.
-
Some amount of furtive hacking:
re-worked the network latency simulation to move it to JS
and focus on the websocket - much simpler & cleaner.
Fixed a 26.04 background save regression caused by the new
BufferedDecompositionFlusher thread not shutting down nicely.
-
Technical team catch-up call, two back to back
customer sales calls.
-
Lunch, catch up with Lily, went over product
management input and deeper planning but got distracted
by some fun hacking instead - too good. Dropped the unused
engine presenter console, saving a chunk of config settings.
Rendered some blank page content as a pre-tile placeholder
for slower systems.
-
Up for an early call with Nina & Eloy.
Sync with Dave.
-
Published the next strip: Conflicts of interest –
"no do-ers, no conflicts ?"
-
Interesting call with a potential UK partner. Brief chat
with sales, CO/TC meeting, sync with Philippe.
-
Dinner, band practice in the evening.
-
Up early, mail chew, bid 'bye to family. Planning call
until lunch.
-
Amazed that a metric compatible font: Carlito has such
dramatic
regressions in its metric compatibility - strange.
-
Plugged at admin backlog, communication pieces, planned
next legs of travel with Laser, partner call, and worked through
some of the E-mail backlog.
My content in this blog and associated images / data under

created by me and (unless obviously labelled otherwise) are licensed under
the public domain, and/or if that doesn't float your boat a CC0

themselves, in context, in the battle for ideas, and I love fixes /
improvements / corrections by private mail.
In case it's not painfully obvious: the reflections reflected here are my
own; mine, all mine ! and don't reflect the views of Collabora, SUSE,

It's also important to realise that I'm not in on the Swedish Conspiracy.
Occasionally people ask for formal photos for conferences
or fun.
